I took this photo of my son out the front of my house. I am a beginner & self taught photographer that enjoys trying new things and learning as I go.Time
This was taken about 5pm as the sun was setting. I was experimenting with the light and my son was my model. He wasn't very keen on getting his pic taken but the way this photo turned out made it a favorite of mine.Lighting
The lighting was just the sun. This was the very first picture i took and it worked perfectly.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D7000 with a AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens with no other equipment. Aperture: f/5.6 ISO:200 Exposure: 10/1250Inspiration
Being a beginner photographer that is self taught, I enjoy playing around with camera and using different settings. On this particular afternoon the sun had a red glow to it so i asked my son to be my model. Needless to say he wasn't very impressed with this and wouldn't smile but then looking back on the pics I think it worked out for the better. I knew the lighting would capture his red hair and freckles beautifully.Editing
The only editing i did was to slightly increase the saturation and added vignette. I am still learning about post-processing and i didn't think anything else was necessary. In my camera bag
As I am only beginner i have my Nikon D7000 with 2 lenses- AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm and 55-300mmFeedback
The only way is to keep taking pictures. Try the different settings to get the feel for what your camera can do. Watch how you frame the picture and don't be scared to get up close. I am learning every day by just looking at what is around me and trying to capture everything. I love photography but am only a beginner.
