Nice photo. I've never seen Lake Louise portrayed like this. Very original.

Another perfect shot. It is clear and crispy. Gives you the notion that you are seating in the boat as well. Spectacular shot.

Now there's a shot where I can almost feel like I'm there. Maybe that's wishful thinking ;)

Such a great shot, feels like I am actually there. But, that would be a bad thing I most certainly would have tipped the canoe over.

Location
I shot this image at Lake Louise, a pretty iconic place in my hometown.Time
The image was taken in the late morning. We had been shooting some classic images of Lake Louise at sunrise and then couldn't resist to get in a canoe even though the good light was fading on us.Lighting
It wasn't good lighting, to be honest. There were lots of shadows and the sky was fairly bland. But, still, the contrasts between the reds of the canoes, the jacket, the green trees, and that fantastic water made it worth shooting.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 60D with a 10-20mm Sigma lens. I didn't fire the flash and the image was taken handheld.Inspiration
I wanted to convey that feeling of adventure. I thought that giving a bit of a POV angle would give the illusion of heading off into the great unknown. I think that the subject in the foreground also gives a sense of wonder and awe to this image, especially as her focus is right on that beautiful glaciers.Editing
Yeah, I mixed two exposures together here using some blending. If I didn't I would have got a completely boring and bland sky.In my camera bag
I generally carry a canon 6d and a 60d. Then, I have a 70-200mm f/2.8, 16-35mm f/4, 50mm f/1.8, and the 10-20mm sigma for the crop sensor as well. I carry a tonne of filters and my tripods and monopod as well.Feedback
Think about the mood that you're hoping to express before you pull the shutter. An image like this might seem spontaneous, but you have to be in discussion with the subject to have them displaying the body language you want to portray. Focus on the details and lines of the image as well. Don't just lift the camera to the eye and fire, inspect every corner of it and make sure it's exactly as you want it before pulling the shutter.
