Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Chicopee, Mass. A town or two from my hometown Springfield, Mass.

Time

The time of day was around dusk. I had a vision for this shot. I wanted to have a PVTA (Public Bus) in the backround hoping to get the passengers inside for the backround as well as the lights and colors the bus itself holds. Was unable to get the perfect shot but it was beautiful reguardless.

Lighting

Im wicked happy how this natural light shot came out. We were out thete for a good couple hours trying things out, getting a feel for the shot. This was just a favorite of mine that I put up. Really happy how the light softened the feel of the picture. Really just love going out to shoot something fun and coming out with a beautiful work of art.

Equipment

The camera was a Nikon D3100, one of my first digital cameras. The lense was a Rokinov fish eye. No tripod, sitting in the middle of the road as he basically jumps me. No flash, all natural.

Inspiration

I was talking with my friend and I told him I wanted to go out and get some shots or some footage for the dvd. We have always loved this spot just because how fun it is to jump a city street. Always wanted to get a shot of one of the riders jumping a street. Ive been inspired to take the picture from a bmx photographer I look up too. The pro's have some amazing work.

Editing

I usually play around with colors to bring out the details but I really didnt do much to this photo.. I just messed with some brightness and contrast to get the look I was feeling the most.

In my camera bag

My bag is usually stuffed with random stuff. I got the Nikon D3100 with a fish eye and telephoto. As well as a Canon ae-1 with 50 mm lense. I also got tripods, film, memory cards honestly everything you can think of..

Feedback

If inwere to give a inspiring photographer tips it would be to simply keep shooting and dont forget what put you on to photography. Always strive for what you love and what you think is right. You never know what will end up being a perfect shot that will follow you forever. Something you can truely be proud about is literally out your front door. Go out and have some fun.
