Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while the car was moving at 60 miles per hour! Don't worry - I wasn't the one driving. When I am visiting an unfamiliar place, I have a habit of having my camera ready. From the passenger seat, I saw this beautifully sloped landscape graced with snow during a road trip through Wisconsin, and I couldn't resist snapping a shot of it.

Time

It was around 10 in the morning.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural and unedited.

Equipment

I used a Nikon COOLPIX S8200 with no flash.

Inspiration

I grew up in Syracuse, NY. I loved sledding, snow days, and having snow every winter for the holidays. When I moved to Florida, winter never felt the same. After so many years, I was excited to go on a trip to Wisconsin to be reunited with the wondrous majesty that is snow. When I saw the trees and bright white snow against the gray highway, I just had to photograph this captivating scene.

Editing

Nope! I think some shots don't need processing. To me, the original shot perfectly captures the natural beauty of the landscape.

In my camera bag

Just my camera, backup battery, and charger

Feedback

Never think that there is such a thing as a bad time to take a meaningful picture. Be ready; you never know when you'll stumble upon a photo-worthy moment!
