Behind The Lens

Location

SECC, Glasgow on the bank of the River Clyde.

Time

This was taken around 3am on a chilly Monday morning.

Lighting

After passing by and seeing the lights were off, I decided to find a place to park. Once parked I seen how calm the river was and how everything reflected off the river enhancing the image.

Equipment

I used my normal 18-55 with my Nikon D3200, I then set to a 18 second exposure to allow the light available to provide this image. I used my tripod to support the camera for a sharp picture.

Inspiration

Upon seeing these buildings in darkness, I felt taking this picture would show a difference to the normal sight of these buildings which are illuminated during the evening and early night.

Editing

This photo is how it came from the camera, the watermark in the corner is the only added element.

In my camera bag

I normal carry my camera, lens cloth, both lenses (18 - 55 & 55 - 200) and a tripod.

Feedback

I would ensure you have some time available and take many photos using different setting such as shutter speed, aperture and even general positioning of your camera.
