Location
While exploring the Piazza San Marco ( St. Mark's Square), Venice, I took this shot from under one of the archways facing the basilicaTime
This was taken at midday on May 19th 2014, on a lightly overcast day.Lighting
Warm day with glare, but with some cloud cover.Equipment
Hand held Nikon D610 with 18-105mm lens, no flash.Inspiration
I love street photography and recording architecture that is historic and very different from what I see in my own country. I feel that black and white treatment enhances this type of shot.Editing
I use simple editing on Photoscape to balance contrast, exposure and sharpness as required. In my camera bag
When travelling overseas, I go a light as possible, taking my dslr with the one lens ( 18-105) and my back up compact, which currently is a Sony RX100, and always make sure both are fully charged at the start of each touring day. A cleaning wipe and cloth also.Feedback
Aim for balance, framing and interest in the foreground to enhance any architectural capture.
