Photo was taken in a small country cemetery called Pine Grove just around the corner from my home in Michigan. I am self taught, I see beauty in everything and I can't wait to get it on camera, I love capturing moments in time, people, nature and animals. I also love the dark side of photography!Time
It was around 9:30 pm May of 2010, my husband and i waited until dark to go, we took the golf cart to the back of the cemetery, sat for a while waiting for the dust to settle before I started taking pictures!Lighting
I used a sony camera it was just a flash.Equipment
I was holding the camera and used the flash.Inspiration
I go to cemetery's for my photography, I also was painting on canvas at that time and needed pictures of grave stones at night for both those projects. I'm a paranormal investigator on my own, so was there for that reason also. I took a picture of the building because it's just older and cool at night. I did not notice the bat at the time because i was in total darkness except for the quick flash. I was viewing my night shots when I returned and noticed what an awesome shot it turned out to be.Editing

Don't be afraid to spend the evening in a dark cemetery, bring lot's of battery and a good flash. I like simple cameras because moments happen fast!
