We all come to a point in our lives where we leave our Mother's and begin to venture out. This photograph illustrates it so well for me. You see my oldest armed with a boogie board setting out to tame the ocean. He has no idea of the power it commands and the destruction it is capable of. The innocence of the young see only the calm wave that brings joy and adventure. His younger brother excited by the idea of adventure begins to contemplate leaving the security of Mom’s grasp. In the end the pull of Mom’s comfort outweighs that of adventure, but it won’t be long. Then you have My Emma, she has only seen the world from her Parents’ arms and is happiest there, yet she too will begin testing the waters. We will one day watch them all go off to conquer the world. They will return to us only briefly to mend some wounds and then return to that which has pulled them from us.
