Location
We were at the talent's house for the photoshoot. This particular shot was taken under a small hut right at the garden.Time
It was probably in the evening, when the light is not as harsh.Lighting
It was taken under a hut so there isn't any direct light hitting on the model. The bounced lights from the nearby wall was enough to lit up the face while keeping the background relatively dark.Equipment
I was using a Canon 5D MK II with a 70-200mm F2.8L on a tripod. I was working with a long lens and slow shutter speed, so i have to use a tripod to minimise camera shake.Inspiration
The relatively calm expression of the model, juxtaposition with the dark background and the fact that the female talent has just shaved off her hair.Editing
The photo was converted to black & white in Photoshop and did some retouching on the talent. Burned the background a little bit more to bring out the subject in the foreground.In my camera bag

Try to communicate with the subject more to bring out the character of the subject. Instead of capturing a beautiful face or figure, try to capture the soul or character of a subject.
