Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture at a nearby parking lot where there were some flowers growing.

Time

This was during the late morning or early afternoon.

Lighting

Other than the sunlight shining above me I didn't need any other source of brilliance. Furthermore with my digital camera set on auto configuration it pretty much takes care of the lighting adjustment.

Equipment

To take this beautiful picture I simply stood over the picture and snapped it.

Inspiration

Anything that looks interesting enough to take a photo of I do. Especially flowers. They're usually always an interesting photographic subject since they make great pictures. My advice is to always carry your camera with you. Even if you are going out to eat with your date, going to the doctor for a checkup, at the airport waiting to fly out somewhere, shopping for clothes, and any other activity. Because you never know when you might come across something that is worth taking a picture of.

Editing

I always do some post-processing on my photos, the difference being the amount that I do. Some of my pictures have been so post-processed or photomanipulated that they no longer resemble normal photos. They instead become more like digital art. I'm not usually content to just take photos of something and leave it looking like an ordinary photo or someone else's photo. I'm at the stage now where I'm considering myself more a digital artist than just a photographer.

In my camera bag

Mainly I carry my camera, a small tripod for taking macro shots, an extra memory card, a card reader and some spare batteries. I rarely use the small tripod and I carry the extra memory card and card reader simply because I don't know where else to put them.

Feedback

My advice is to always carry your camera with you. Even if you are going out to eat with your date, going to the doctor for a checkup, at the airport waiting to fly out somewhere, shopping for clothes, and any other activity. Because you never know when you might come across something that is worth taking a picture of. Sometimes I drive around the neighborhood or go downtown wandering around to look for interest- ing subjects to take a picture of. You never know what kind of unique looking buildings or homes you might come across that is worth taking a picture of. In addition to this I go hang out the local mall to see what I might find worth taking a picture of. It may be some merchandise on display in a shop window that would be good for a macro shot.
