Nice work, the trees really loom over you menacingly like a mob surrounding their victim.

Location
There are some things that I will never get tired to shoot - the sea, the wood and the cats)) They always are different, one can hardly make two same shots of them at a time, even in the equal conditions of shooting) The photo was taken in winter forest not far from my home during my regular photo walk in February 2013.Time
Winter of 2013 wasn't very cold, but at that day the sky was filled with low grey clouds. The shot was taken 02 February 2013 17:33Lighting
Evening in the winter forest with Nikkor 18-105 3.5-5.6 kit lens… What can I say? It was dark) I mean very dark. No chance to make a good landscape shot).Equipment
This was shot on my Nikon D90 with AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm f 3.5-5.6 – a standart kit lens for D90. I did not use any other equipment to make this shot.Inspiration
I vainly spent all the day in forest, searching for something special or unusual. 5-10 “not bad” shots were completely not of what I have dreamed of. I decided to have a some rest. I took off my Tamrac sling, sat down and raised my head up. Branches of the trees were entwined into a strange pattern. Just like hands or… veins. Veins of forest. Bingo! I made it! I have found what I was looking for.Editing
Usually, I'm not fond of deep and hard processing and have no constant or favorite recipe to process the raw file. Mostly it depends on different conditions, such as my mood, music that i'm listening to during the processing and so on. The mood wasn't bright so I decided to make it in black and white, with some extra contrast, darkness and grain. In my camera bag
I do not have a lot of stuff and my Tamrac Evolution 6 is usually packed with Nikon D90(D610 for now)body fitted with Nikkor 70-300 mm f/4.5-5.6 G VR, the "nifty fifty" for Nikon users - 50mm f/1.8D(just in case) ), Nissin Di-866 Flash and couple of Marumi filters. Sometimes, in some special cases, I take a tripod and a remote controlFeedback
“There are no accidents” (c) Master Oogway, “Kung Fu Panda” movie ) . Sometimes, all you have to do is just to change point or angle of view, take one more look at what you found old and very familiar,. And you'll find something new, something special in things that you well know. And one more thing - best day to shot your new great shot is now, best place is here. Not tomorrow, not somewhere else, now and here. Thanks for your attention.
