I spent the day at one of my favorite lakes. I saw this little dragon fly and thought it looked interesting. I have never seen a blue one before.

I have been following these two particular Blue Heron's for over two years. Here is one of the photographs I took. Beautiful birds.

I took this photograph to show what it looks like when the light is turned on.

I was hired by a radio station to photograph Luke Bryant and Dustin Lynch.

Behind The Lens

Location

I started my photography journey 17 years ago. I started in film photography then moved to digital. This photograph was taken in my home studio.

Time

It was in the afternoon after a busy day of work. I felt spontaneous and got creative.

Lighting

I used one speed flash with softbox and reflector.

Equipment

Nikon D7100 with a 18-70mm lens.

Inspiration

Was thinking about the idea of someone trying to cover your mouth and eyes in an attempt to blind you and repress your voice. The face showing through is sort of me saying you can break through that.

Editing

I used Corel PSP x6 with blending layers.

In my camera bag

My camera, two lens and a flash.

Feedback

Just get creative and think outside the box. Sometimes you will succeed and sometimes you won't. Either way it's the journey that matters.
