Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the Vancouver zoo, where they where performing a hawk show.Time
This shot was taken around 4 in the afternoon this past summer.Lighting
The light from the side illuminated the birds face, but a tree blocked out the background. Using a small aperature was able to make the background darker.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon EOS t3 camera, and with a 70-300mm sigma telephoto lens.Inspiration
I noticed how the branches created shadowed stripes on the birds face. I took that into account and composed my best idea of the shot.Editing
Done at all.In my camera bag
Atleast 2 lens (preferably a 35 or 50, and a 70-300mm telephoto lens), a tripod, a camera body, a few filters, chargers, and a lint free cloth for cleaning the lenses.Feedback
Use the lighting to your advantage. Think about the angles your light is coming in at, and how you can use that.
