Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Punggol beach in the far North East of Singapore. I first start off (self-taught) shooting landscape before i focus my work into portraiture.

Time

This was taken during the evening hours, between 6.30pm to 6.45pm. Low tide at 0.2. At about 7pm, you will start to see the rocks covered up by the sea water.

Lighting

The lightings are purely from, the sunset which is on my right at that point of time.

Equipment

It was taken by Sony A77 Crop camera, mounted on tripod with remote trigger. Filter I am using NiSi ND100 at 162sec F8 Manual focus

Inspiration

Before I setup my kit to take this shot, I actually went down to the sea with the sea water at my kneecap level. When I sees the rocks surfacing off the water, it strike me to attempt this. Result was amazing during post processed.

Editing

Yes, definitely. You will have enhance the image first, increase sharpness, adjust contrast. Increase a little brightness, reduce highlight. The important aspect is what you want your viewers to see at the end of the time.

In my camera bag

A camera, stable tripod (able to laid flat on ground), filters, filter holder, trigger
