Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken on my walk to class at my University. I always take my camera because there are always amazing shots waiting to be taken! You'll never know what you will find on a daily basis if you always have your camera ready.Time
It was around noon on a cloudy, rainy day. I often find it difficult to take natural light photos at this time of day, so it was a nice experience to have the covering of the clouds but still have great light!Lighting
The overcast that day offered soft, natural lighting to take any amazing photos! Natural light is my favorite, so anytime I see the opportunity I grab my camera and go for a walk!Equipment
I had my Canon EOS T3i on hand that day, but I don't like to take my favorite lenses out when it's raining so I decided to just take my standard 18-55mm kit lens. Wish I would've had my macro lens handy, but it just goes to show you can always work with what you have!Inspiration
It was the beginning of Autumn, so all of the leaves were just starting to fall. I have always loved the abstract shapes that water droplets can take on. I just happened to notice this leaf sitting on the side of a bridge and thought it was just simple enough to make a great photo!Editing
Just some basic processing was necessary. Contrast, exposure, cropping, etc. I'm a big fan of post-processing, but there wasn't necessarily much that this photo needed! In my camera bag
I've had my affordable yet efficient Canon EOS T3i since I really started to love photography, and it has proven itself worthy of keeping until I can save up. Great body for a beginner! I also usually keep my 100 mm f2.8, because it is a great macro lens and also serves as a decent portraiture lens, and these are my two main focuses. I also bring along my affordable, yet very handy 50 mm f1.8 which proves to take amazing photos for the price. As you can tell I do what I can for being on a budget!Feedback
The best advice I could give is to not overcomplicate every picture. Sometimes the simplest things in life can make for a great photo! Take your camera everywhere and let your creativity flow...and of course I must say, don't let being on a budget discourage you; It's more about the person behind the lens than the price of buying it!
