Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo while on a family vacation in Paris. I wanted to get out for couple of nights to try and capture this beautiful "City Of Lights". This was my first attempt at night photography.Time
I was walking around the Ile de la Cite, after being at the Louvre around 930pm. I had cleared some trees and the saw what I thought would be a great shot of the Eiffel Tower towering over the city skyline.Lighting
I wanted to use as much of the rich golden natural glow and light that was illuminating the night sky.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel T2i with a 18-55mm stock lens, and a tri-pod.Inspiration
Photography has become a passion of mine over the last few years. Especially in there area of landscape photography. Being from Canada and this being my first trip to the "City of Lights" I really wanted to get photos of its gorgeous skyline at night. It was great having my family there with me, especially my dad who has been a photographer for many years to share that experience with.Editing
I didn't do any post-processing on this particular version of the photo. I really liked how it turned out so I left it alone. In my camera bag
Typically I have my Canon Rebel T2i with the stock 18-55mm lens, a 55-250mm Canon lens, and a tri-pod.Feedback
Plan what you want to photograph, have patience, and try different angles of shots. Most of all go with your gut. Sometimes you will see something and be like "I think that shot could look amazing, and express what I want to express in the photo". Don't forget to have fun too!
