Gunnera Panicle

This huge herbaceous plant is often referred to as Giant Rhubarb. The plant always looks jurassic to me. Gunnera Manicata is eaten by the locals in Southern Chile, one of its native countries, where they peel the leaf stalk and eat the core. This plant, is growing in Northern Ireland and I have never been tempted to see if it is edible. I always love the Panicles, they always looked like red sprinkles.
