Location
This photograph was taken in our guest room at home. Puddin' had been with us for close to a year when this photo was taken. We had adopted her from an animal shelter the previous year.Time
I'm not sure of the exact time I took this image, but it was either later in the afternoon or at night.Lighting
I did not have any special lighting, just an overhead light. To me the lighting works, however, because it gives a more authentic feel to the photograph. This is something my cat does everyday, yet it's a challenge to capture it because of her quick movements. If I had set this photograph up like I was taking a real photo shoot, it would feel and look staged to me.Equipment
My only equipment was an iPhone 4S. I did not use any built-in features of the camera like flash or filters.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo because I wanted to capture Puddin' having fun. I had tried to take pictures like this previously, but failed when she would get up and start walking towards me. It's difficult to take pictures of any animal because you can't just tell them to stay still and expect them to do so. Puddin' is no different, she squirms and rolls all over. I wanted to challenge myself by taking a photograph of an animal moving around. When Puddin' is moving around, she's having fun.Editing
No.In my camera bag
Since this photo was taken, I have gained a lot more experience with photography. So I do have slightly better equipment now than I had back when this photo was taken. If I'm going somewhere with the purpose of taking photos, I bring my two cameras, tripod, and laptop. When I'm out and about doing everyday errands, I just bring my phone.Feedback
My only advice would be to always have some camera handy. You can't take a picture of anything without one. It doesn't need to be an expensive state-of-the-art camera for it to do the job.
