Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken on a Scout Camp, at Burman Bush in Durban, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa.Time
It was early morning, after a night of heavy rain, the sun was just peaking through the trees. A light mistiness was hanging low over the grass.Lighting
The sunlight diffused by the mist, created fantastic magical rays streaming through the leaves and branches of the trees.Equipment
Canon EOS 600D Aperture f/7.1 ISO 100 Exposure 1/125Inspiration
The pure magic of the light beams through the mist, combined with the quiet atmosphere of people still slumbering in their tents. I stood in solitude, touched by sunbeams it felt as though I was in a higher plane of being.Editing
I did enhanced some colors, to make the leaves stand out more.In my camera bag
a Canon EOS 600d, telephoto lens, wide angle lens, tripod, and shutter release. Loads of memory cards and batteries.Feedback
You will need to wake up early, to catch the first light, and hope for the best. For me the timing was just right, following a heavy rain shower and the sun in the right position. You can't plan a shot like this, you will need to wait. A good camping chair, a mug of coffee and your camera at the ready.
