Location
This photo was taken in the Marriott hotel in downtown Atlanta, GA. At this time I was only slightly interested in photography. What drew me in was the idea of looking at something from a different angle.Time
I go to the hotel for the first time around noon. I remember thinking as I walked in that it was so "bright and natural looking" in there. And then I look up and there it was. This beautiful, almost alien like structure with a beam of light hitting me in the face. It was gorgeous!Lighting
As you can imagine, it was pure sunlight. It created such a beautiful effect that I had to capture it.Equipment
I don't exactly remember what camera I had at the time but I know it was a Canon, point and shoot.Inspiration
I mean, just look at it! Wouldn't you want to remember such a view?Editing
Aside from converting into black and white, I didn't make any changes. I didn't know anything about photo editing at the time so I was very, very amateur. In my camera bag
Currently I have my Canon T6, a lume cube, a credit card size LED light, a 55mm lens, a mini tripod and a normal size tripod. Every now and then, I'll have my headphones or my prism for some in camera lighting effects.Feedback
I love looking at architecture from different perspectives. I lay down, press against a wall or tilt my head. I would suggest trying to view architecture from odd angles and seeing what new shapes you can capture.
