Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken from Saltburn Pier

Time

This image was taken on an August summer evening at around 8.30 pm

Lighting

You cant beat the special lighting that a sunset gives you pure simple and very natural

Equipment

NIKON D300 Lens :- 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 46 mm Exposure :- 1/180 sec, F/8.0, ISO 200, Multi-segment WB Auto EV :-0 stops, Flash :- Not fired . © P.T.Photography

Inspiration

It was simply a case of being there at the right time and place, normally you have people all over the beach at sunset.

Editing

The image was processed in photoshop with some adjustment to the white balance to slightly warm the sky and also bring out more of the reflection on the beach

In my camera bag

My bag now contains my Nikon D810 my go to lens is the nikon 24-70 f/2.8

Feedback

In many cases images are just a case of being in the right place at the right time, You can however plan shots like this in the hope the weather will be co operative, Composition and angles play a great deal in having an image look right. If you are in doubt about the correct exposure you can expose for the sky and bring the shadows up in post processing , or you could bracket a series of shots
