Just Southwest of the Na Pali Coast State Park, nestled on the western coast of Kauai, Hawaii, lies Polihale Beach. This tranquil paradise, only accessible by dirt road, offers a true sense of solidarity with the island and the experiences attached to it. This photo, taken at dusk depicts my brother returning from the ocean as he passes across the sunset.

Location
This photo was taken on the beach at Polihale State Park on the island of Kauai. Polihale beach is located on the western side of the island in Waimea, HI.Time
This moment was captured at dusk, right around 7:15 p.m.Lighting
This is an extremely raw image, with no post processing at all. The sunset provided the only light, and appears exactly as it was that evening.Equipment
This picture, believe it or not, was shot on a Nikon Coolpix L20 10.1 MP with a lens aperture of f/3.1-6.7. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
My brother and I had been on a trip to Hawaii to visit an only childhood friend who now lives there. He took us to this secluded beach on the western side of the island for the day. We were packing up to make the 2 hour drive back, and I couldn't help but to capture a few pictures of the stunning sunset that was happening in front of me. I was laying flat on my stomach, snapping some shots, when my brother, who was in the ocean, suddenly appeared in my view finder. I got two shots off before he disappeared, and this is the shot that best captured the moment.Editing
No post-processing at all.In my camera bag
On a normal day, I have nothing more then my camera and some extra batteriesFeedback
Being an amateur photographer, my advice might be worth what you pay for it. However, in my limited experience, I have found that you can almost never artificially create a photo like this. For me, just like in this photo, I'm usually trying to shoot something else when something like this image appears. The secret is that when it does appear, it's only there for a few seconds at best. Press the button as many times as you can until the moment is gone, and in most cases you'll capture it!
