I'm not that much into colour imaging (as you might notice from my gallery) but THIS is > ASTOUNDING colour imagery!
BEAUTIFUL work, adore the light/inky shadows, especially the light as it glances off the edges of books chairs and chandelier!
Superb comp, and a RARE > colour < fave from me, MarySue! :-))) Ell

Location
Taken at Groton School in Groton Massachusetts USA. This photo was taken in the Churchill room. This photo was selected by Ron Howard and Canon as a winning entry in their project Imagination contest. I was honored to be one of 91 photographers chosen out of 100,000 submissions .Time
I loved to wander around the school grounds and had never been in this room that is full of beautiful old books and antique furniture . It was late afternoon just before the sun was going to set and the light coming in the windows was amazing.Lighting
There is actually a very big old tree right outside that window and I was thinking how cool to get the sun on that tree through this room. The room had turned golden and you could see the dust floating in the air as it caught the golden light. I looked through my lens from several angles and realized that not the tree but the actual light was what I wanted to capture. It almost seemed tangible as if it was liquid and I could touch it. It was just one of those magic lucky moments.Equipment
I had a Nikon 3000 at that time and it was such an easy camera to lug around in my bag. Nothing fancy, I like to keep things simple but I knew I had to stand like a tripod myself to get those dark shadows clear. Aperture f/22.0?ISO 100?Shutter 20/10?Inspiration
You know, I never know what I want to take. At the time ... I think it was 2013 I really had just started taking photos for my paintings. I had received this camera as a gift ... my first real camera! I quickly became very interested in light in my photography and this location always awarded me with a subtle but striking light that I could not get enough of. I was lucky to come across it when I did... just plain luck.Editing
I did no post processing on this photo. I try not to really unless I want to call it digital art. This photo was perfect straight out of the camera. In my camera bag
Usually just my camera and a lens or two depending on where I am going. I like to keep it light and uncomplicated. I hate tripods and hardly ever use one.Feedback
I like to let the world come to me. I used to play a game whenever I was a passenger in a car... I would try to find things that I would photograph along the way. It's a hard thing to do because there is a lot of "ordinary" on the high way . I find people are always looking for that "BIG" shot , that perfect shot , but really what is wonderful is when you find the perfect shot in the ordinary. When you can see something in a different light or angle and it speaks to you then click away. I want to show others how I see things. Again for me it was and is about the light ... I look at my photos as paintings and not photographs. I often don't care if there is focus as long as I can pull it off with compelling light.
