Behind The Lens

Location

Green Lake, British Columbia Canada.

Time

Late one summer day, during a beautiful sunset.

Lighting

Natural lighting all the way!

Equipment

This was taken with an old Nikon L5 point and shoot camera which proves that regardless of what camera you have, you can take great images.

Inspiration

This was taken from my grandparents dock, a place that my grandma had taken countless sunset photos from. Wanting to follow in her footsteps, I sat on the dock, every evening, waiting for the perfect sunset. My perseverance paid off and I was able to capture this beautiful glimpse at the natural splendour of a place that is close to my heart.

Editing

Back when I took this photo several years ago, I didn't know what post-processing was.

In my camera bag

Now, I have my Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-105mm, Nikkor 70-300mm, Nikkor 35mm f/1.8, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8, Nikon SB-700, 5 Sandisk memory cards of various sizes, remote, Solmeta GPS (amazing), large Gorillapod, Manfroto tripod, and a multitude of other small accessories and cleaning products.

Feedback

If a photo doesn't work the first time, try again. If you have a certain vision for what you want the image to be, don't stop until you achieve it. Finally, in today's digital age of beautifully photoshopped images, take a moment to appreciate nature for what it is, not for what a computer can do to it.
