Behind The Lens

Location

Image was captured at an antique train museum in Kentucky.

Time

All I can say about the time, is that it was after 10am and before noon. This was a very busy time for scouting locations and following up, so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

Lighting

The day was thankfully, partly cloudy. This allowed for a lot of variations on the same shot for shadow play.

Equipment

Cannon Rebel

Inspiration

I really dig texture, diving into worlds within worlds. For me, the best stories are told by weathering and time naturally scribing their thoughts on a surface.

Editing

I deepened the contrast, shadows and colors, cleaned up a few stray spots.

In my camera bag

I like to travel light. For this trip, all I took was my camera. Since then, I've upgraded to a Cannon 70D w/ 18-135.

Feedback

Look for what might surprise you. Be open to subjects telling you how they want to be seen, instead of you running the always show. Don't be so quick to dismiss subject matter before looking more closely for what you might have missed on the first look.
