Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at the Owl and monkey haven on the Isle of Wight. This is a sanctuary for primates and birds of prey they look after injured and rescued animals. This picture is of one of the two Lar gibons.

Time

This was taken on 17th Feb 2013 at 15.34 It was a lovely afternoon not to bright but none the less lovely.

Lighting

This was taken through the glass of the enclosure I made sure the lens was right up close to the glass so there was no reflection,

Equipment

I used a Pentax K100D super camera with a pentax 18-55mm lens. the lens was set at 55mm. I shot it at Iso 400 f8 and 1/250.

Inspiration

Even though the two gibbons were playing happily when they sopped they looked sad this one in particular had a sad face. I loved her colouring and the beautiful eyes.

Editing

All I have done to the photo is cropped sharpened slightly and added a bit of shaddow

In my camera bag

Pentax K100D super, Pentax 18-55mm lens, Tamaron 70-300mm lens and sigma 400mm lens.

Feedback

I think just getting up close to the glass is the trick to capturing an image like this
