Behind The Lens

Location

Hello. I took this photo in Upper Antelope Canyon. The light coming in was perfect.

Time

This was in the early afternoon

Lighting

The sun coming in onto the canyon walls was just stunning

Equipment

I believe this is before I got my mark iii so I used my canon rebel T2i with a 55mm lens. No flash or tripod because we had limited time in the canyon

Inspiration

I kept seeing photos from fantastic photographers on Facebook and outdoor photography magazines of this canyon. I knew I had to go and see it for myself. The only way to see the canyon is through a guided tour because it is on Native American lands. The guide was fantastic! What a fantastic experience

Editing

Lightroom

In my camera bag

Now I have my Canon 5D Mark iii & iv and my 85mm f1.4L and my sigma art 35mm f1.4L and my tripod

Feedback

I think researching lighting and camera settings for this kind of shot is a must. A example is that I changed my white balance from cloudy to fluorescent and I believe that made a difference. Of course I could have done that in post processing but it’s always better to get it right in-camera.
