I wanted this photo to come out as calm, peaceful, magical, and mystifying. The calm after a brutal snowstorm, like the one that occurred, is a beautiful thing, as is the sight of the red barn standing out amidst the cold, snowy, wintry landscape.Equipment
I used a Nikon D5000 camera with an 18-55mm VR lens.Inspiration
I really love the calm after the storm type of pictures, so I made it my mission to get one after the brutal snowstorm. I was just walking around the area looking for a good picture and fell upon this. I thought the fence set up the framing for the red barn in the background, with the surrounding snow creating a great contrast.Editing
I slightly increased the contrast of the photo and slightly increased the saturation. That is all.In my camera bag
