Behind The Lens
Location
this photo was taken in a field in northumberland. what started of as a horrible rainy day ended up being a great photo shoot.Time
the photo was taken at 3.00 PM, whilst sitting and eating lunch., feeling miserable in the rain.Lighting
to be honest, it was pure fluke. i didn't have any equipment, and hadn't expected to get any good photo's. i just used the pure sunlight. the day was grey, but bright.Equipment
i used a canon 30.5mm 2.8 camera with a 5x15 zoom. it's from the powershot range as a G15. i use it on outings, because it's light, discreet, comfortable, takes excellent pictures, and is great for when you're not expecting to do a major shoot. i didn't have tripod, no flash used, or lens.Inspiration
i was just trying to cheer myself up from the rain, and the glittering of the droplets just begged to have their photo taken. i tried various angles, various plants.Editing
no processing was done.In my camera bag
i usually carry around a mini tripod, but i don't carry around more besides for my faithful camera, slung around my neck, in my pocket, or sometimes under my sweater.Feedback
u need to be careful about the depth of field for theses close ups, to be able to have in focus the important details. sometimes too much blur can detract from the image. also, when dealing with water, don't get your lens wet. a lot of it is about being impulsive. either you'll get a good shot, or not! but try be original, use idea's of pictures you've seen, but don't try to copy it, add a twist or try to include few methods.
