Cardinal View

Shot in Glastonbury, Conneticut; this image displays a male Cardinal perched on an Evergreen tree. During an early late winter morning, the birds were abundant and in search of food. A long, harsh winter had finally receded and the ground was once again visible. As I walked along the path, a loud commotion in the thicket caught my attention. A family of Cardinals had gathered together. The females continued about their business, and as I moved closer to the bunch, one male Cardinal flew out. He perched himself on a branch above, and began to sing loudly as if to warn the others of my presence. His vibrant coloring provided excellent contrast with the lush neutrals behind.
