Location
I took this at Zilker Park, in Austin, TX. There were a few pups that were playing in a puddle and my position was perfect to get this boxer shaking the cool water off before running around in the sun. I love the outdoors and when my camera is in hand it always allows for a wonderful backdrop!Time
I was a lovely weekend evening, joined by my handsome boyfriend. We had just had dinner and wanted to lay out on the beautiful fields of Zilker Park. As we soaked up the sun the splashes from dogs running through a puddle had us giggling. Photo was taken some weekend on a beautiful summer day in 2012.Lighting
Lighting? That big ole sun there in the background was just enough to capture this gentle giant meeting new friends and making memories in little puddles. I enjoy sitting at the park when the sun is getting low to see that shadow of myself just ahead of me and the sun warming my back.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS Rebel T1i, with a 71-300MM f/4-5.6 III lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
The inspiration behind this photo is just that, it was going on behind me! I just happen to bring my camera with me, so it was really an unexpected delight. How could I not want to get a photo of these pups playing and having the time of their lives?! I truly love dogs and when they are doing their own thing it just makes me smile.Editing
I did not do any post-processing just the true eye and finger on the trigger. See and snap!In my camera bag
My pack is actually my moms old camera bag which is old and a little small but I wouldn't trade it for a new one! Inside you'll find Canon EOS Rebel T1i. Her lenses consist of the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Il, 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS and the 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III which is what this photo was taken with.Feedback
Get out there and always have your camera ready. You never know what's in front of you, or behind you!! You don't have you be an amazing photographer to take a photo that makes you happy. Even if you are just starting out and know nothing sometimes the natural eye will allow you to capture something truly spectacular!
