Red, White, & BOOM

Just like so many other people last night I was excited to see a lightning storm move thru the valley. I grabbed my camera and out the door I went. I ended up in a field in between Salem and McMinnville standing in the rain hoping for a decent photo. Last time I tried to capture lightning was a complete failure. This time I kept my head and worked on composition as well as settings to capture the lightning. This photo is a compilation of 7 photos stacked on top of each other to show how much lightning we were getting. I was amazed with the different colors of lightning. The colors are created by the different temperatures of the lightning, I didn't change them at all.
