Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on a boat tour of Cañon del Sumidero in Chiapas, Mexico.

Time

I don't remember exactly what time I took the photo, but I have to figure that it was sometime past noon. I remember it was really hot at that time, so I would say it was the early afternoon.

Lighting

The contrast between light and shade, was really impressive at some points.

Equipment

I shot it with an iPhone 4/s

Inspiration

On the boat tour we took a very particular route, because there was an island on the river where the boats would station and people would get off. On the route that we took, we stayed mostly on the shaded side as to not cause heat exhaustion, and also because the sunny side had crocodiles resting on the riverbank. But looking out onto the journey, both sides of the river created a very nice contrast between light and dark, so these spots were optimal in capturing good photographs.

Editing

For this particular capture, I didn't do any post-processing.

In my camera bag

I'm not an experienced photographer, rather a beginner. To make it short, there's nothing in my bag.

Feedback

Wait for a particular moment, and remember that multiple iterations are always good, because there are elements that could be present in some and not in others. It takes patience, definitely.
