Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on one of my walks in the southern highlands NSW Australia. I am constantly learning and seeking new techniques to improve my photography skills

Time

It was taken in spring around 1pm in the afternoon. I found a group of mushrooms near the edge of the road under a group of pine trees, which gave lots of shade from the midday sun

Lighting

There was a lot of shade but lots of midday sun as well. I used the on camera flash.

Equipment

I use a Pentax K20d. I used the on camera flash for light balance

Inspiration

I like photographing nature and landscape. It was more of an experiment shot for practise than a planned shot.

Editing

no

In my camera bag

usually take my 18 - 200mm lens as well as a 50mm lens. spare batteries, spare SD cards, water, a few filters and lens cleaning kit.

Feedback

not really. it was an experiment with light, so I guess the only thing I could suggest is just go and shoot in different types of light, try under trees, or with the sun or light source either behind you or to one side. Just play and have fun.
