There`s a whole story behind this portrait even tho it occured in less than 10 sec. I just saw the kid on Scottish Highland Games in Inverness and KNEW I have to take a picture of her, so dumped everything else, went about 7-8 meters away from the child and kneeled to be same high as her.
The little girl was posing but never smiled! You know these long long seconds when you are actually seeing the shot, an Other shot, despite all the circumstances around, I was just mesmerized and hypnotized by girl`s glare and vision.
When I got my camera down from my eye all the surrounding colors came back to life and I let myself smile cheerfully and asked the Little Lady "Where`s you smile, sweetheart?" to which she never answered but at least gave a very little glimpse of smile. Just for me :)
