If you have ever watched hummers, with their little wings going at about 50 or more times per second, zipping around, backing up, chasing off other hummers in their territory and hovering to get some nectar, you will know that you can get tired just watching them. It is a wonder that they don't rest more often than they do.

This little female Purple-throated Mountaingem finally took a very brief rest on this twig - long enough for a quick picture. Seen in the cloud forest region of Monteverde in Costa Rica.
