Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my back yard garden just as the sun was starting to set after a particularly hard rainstorm.

Time

This shot was taken around 8:30 P.M. after a particularly hard rain storm. I love walking out of doors after a rain. It feels as if the whole earth has been cleansed with a shower. The sun was going down with rain drops dropping lazily off of various plants. The dill plants had were holding onto their drops making for a perfect picture.

Lighting

Natural lighting was used, making more of a show than I could reproduce.

Equipment

Sony cyber-shot with macro setting.

Inspiration

After a rain is my favorite time to step outside. The whole earth feels, smells clean. The energy from passing storms is energizing to me, triggering off some inner need to create. After seeing my dill plants still hanging onto each raindrop as if it were a diamond, I rushed inside grabbed my camera and set to work creating.

Editing

Post processing including a little cropping and the addition of cool filter effect.

In my camera bag

My camera bag includes my camera and a very tough tri pod with settings from a few inches to up to my head.

Feedback

Take advantage of your natural surroundings. One does not have to travel around the world for great pics. Look around, see things in different perspectives and have fun. I try to pretend I'm a small child or see things from my cat's point of view. Makes for interesting photos.
