Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken by the pond on my families property, on a beautiful Spring day in Texas. One of my favorite locations for my photoshoots. I have no professional training in photography, so I like to try out as many locations as possible.Time
I took this photo around ten in the morning. The perfect time to go taking a walk with your little sister through the woods.Lighting
I like to use natural lighting as much as possible, as I did with this photo. However it was really bright that morning, so I did find it necsarry to angle us behind a tree, so that my subject would not be all washed out with sunlight.Equipment
I used my Cabin Rebel T3i with a 18-55mm lens. My trusty camera and lens for most shots.Inspiration
I was taking a midmorning walk with my little sister when she decided she must have a water lilly to take back home. I thought it might make for a nice photo with the colors from her dress and hair bow complimenting the colors of the Lilly pods.Editing
No post-processing was needed for this photo. In my camera bag
My Canon Rebel T3i, 18-55mm lens and very important extra battery packs and SD cards!Feedback
Just keep your eyes open for that great shot! Always have your camera ready with a charged battery. I like catching the everyday events in a candid style. I know not everyone has a little sister and a pond on the back of their property, but everyone can catch those special moments in their own life.
