The Ngorongoro crater is a truly awe-inspiring place and a photographer's dream. Back in 2009 I had only just bought my first proper camera but it was hard not to great some great shots in the crater! We came across this lion, flat on his back, paws in the air and fast asleep. He still had his front arm hooked around the horns of his prey, lest anyone try and steal it from him! I got myself down to eye level with the lion, he looked right at me and I got the shot! Nikon D90, 70-300mm lens, 1-500 sec @ f5.6, 300mm.
