I have never seen as many roadrunners in East Texas as I have this year. They are everywhere. Spotted this one yesterday when I was at my storage building hopping around on pallets. We went back and forth for about 10 minutes before I finally got this one.
I was reading up on roadrunners, curious as to what their enemy - predator might be, since there are so many of them this year. Referencing the cartoon - I would assume coyotes, and we certainly have plenty of them - there really wasn't a reference I could find. However, i did find a cultural reference: "Some Pueblo Indian tribes, such as the Hopi, believed that the Roadrunner provided protection against evil spirits." Suddenly, I'm feeling VERY protected
