My mother died of lung cancer which became brain cancer and I have always been a big advocate against smoking. So, this photo was a statement about covering up - the smell with perfume, the damage cigarettes do with excuses, etc all the different cover ups within a smoker and family member of a smoker's life. It is like alcoholic and alcoholism who covers up their addiction and the pain it causes.
