Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is taken at Rauðavatn in Reykjavik Iceland Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland and Rauðavatn (Redwater) is nearby where I live.

Time

I took it early in the morning at sunrise on October 17th 2013

Lighting

The Lighting was perfect this morning and I didn´t have to work the image in PS, she was perfect.

Equipment

I used Canon 40D and had the lens Canon 10-22 f3,5 and exposure time was 1/100 sec and Iso 160 and no tripod. The lens Canon 10-22 is my most favorite, I love it :)

Inspiration

I just love sunrises and sunsets, when I see something I like I take photo´s, I am always with my camera. I love photography, it is my passion in life.

Editing

Almost nothing, just some sharpening and contrast, thats it.

In my camera bag

I hafe usually my Canon 40D, Lenses are, Canon 10-22 f3,5, Canon 50 macro 2,5, Canon 17-85 5,6, Canon 75-300 3,5 and flash Canon 420EX. My tripod Manfrotto is usually with me. My backup camera is my old Canon 300D

Feedback

My advice hmmm, I regularly monitor the weather forecast for the week and I know when sunrises and sunsets is set for each day :) my favorite is clouds in all kind´s of shape, I don´t know how many pictures of clouds I have but they are many, if there are clouds and sunrise it can not miss. In this senery I was almost at the water because the reflection is best that way, if you are far away you will just get the half of it, close is better and I used my Canon lens 10-22. she is great for those shots and you have to have the picture lightly underexposed for the colours. I take a few with different exposure´s until I am satisfied with the resault, it is hard too see it on the camera but you have too trust your insight, the perfect shot will come, sooner then you think :) Good luck.
