It was a warm summer evening and was out for a drive when I came across this scene along "Refinery Row". I took a few similar photos that evening. We do get some beautiful sunsets in this area.Lighting
Loved the silhouette created here.Equipment
This was shot with a Fujifilm FinePix S3400. Aperture f/7.1?ISO 200?Shutter 10/600? Hand held. No other equipment used.Inspiration
Summer evenings are my favorite time to get out and see what there is to see. Evenings last a long time because days are so long, so there are good opportunities to snap a cool photo. I have worked in the petroleum industry so thought I would head out and see what was available for shooting in the refinery area.Editing
The only post processing that occurred was slight color and contrast enhancement and cropping in Photoshop. In my camera bag
Currently I am using a Nikon D7100 with an AF-S Nikkor 18-105 mm ED lense. I also really enjoy using my AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 G lense. These are my favorite lenses. I do have a 35 mm 1:1.8 G portrait lense on hand as well as an AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 G ED lense which is handy but I am considering something with more reach because I enjoy photographing the moon.Feedback
I have no real advice for others other than just take the opportunity to grab a photo of something cool when you see it, as certain situations really, may never present themselves again.
