Location
The photo was taken in my back yard.Time
Late afternoon when the sun was shining through the flower from the backLighting
Lighting is the key to getting a nice shot. Lighting changes so quickly repositioning often, is required.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Nikon P520, 42x zoom, in macro setting.Inspiration
This batch of sunflowers were planted as a ray of hope and sunshine for my daughter who had just received the all clear from Ovarian cancer. This is her favorite flower, seeing it grow healthy and strong, watching for the little heads to show their beauty was a family affair. Capturing a beautuful picture was my goal when I shot this.Editing
I do very little editing of my pictures. A little color adjustment and cropping is just about it!In my camera bag
I usually carry my bag with a couple lens depending on which camera I'm using, a cleaning cloth, monopod for steadying, since my tripod is from the 70's and is a bit bulky for carrying. Most important thing in my bag is an extra charged battery!!Feedback
Oh my goodness, I think you have to have patience. Study your subject from many angles under different lighting then... take a ton of shots in different setting. It amazes me how many shots you can take of the same subject but no two are ever the same!
