Location
This photo was taken in Tijuana, Mexico, USA border. This place is called "Mirador" or the Viewer, where some people scan see from a higher place all the view of the US-Mexico border. Years ago, people came here to see the police control and help others to cross from Mexico to USA.Time
I arrived to this place early around 4PM to get ready for the blue hour to shoot the SunDown sea view, then walking around I found this scene with people.Lighting
It was not at the best light near blue hour, but catching the people ether was the precise moment.Equipment
My 5D iii, 24-70mm LensInspiration
Having a walk along the border net or wall I came to the beginning or start of the "Muro" that touch the sea and show just ONE scenery from the nature that men divided by historical facts. Here is where the infamous border starts, where the big differences just are centimeters away each other separating a land and people.Editing
Black and white shows more objectively the topics that involve human emotions and drama. I chose do the post-processing in Black and white because gives more character and depth. In my camera bag
A couple of 5Ds, couple of lenses is all what I can carry when I have long walks. Looking like a common tourist is my goal in order do not annoying the locals. When I walk slow then I use the minimum equipment, when I shoot guerrilla style then I can wear more equipment because the shooting will be short, fast and effective.Feedback
Merge with the landscape, walk slow, do like others there, wear low key not as a fresh tourist with a T-Shirt I LOVE MEXICO handling a map, be sensitive about the activities, feel the place and the people feelings when you arrive, stay and make photos. Be discrete as much as possible, take your time, enjoy if possible the view instead ONLY shooting if time allows.
