I love natures power... water is the king... this must be a flash flood that occurs on the rare side for this snag to still be there.
By all rights it should not be.
Fantastic capture.. love the angle you shot this at to include the setting sun. phototure Perfect!!

Behind The Lens
Location
I captured this image east of Oakdale California. The tree rests atop of a 50' waterfall that flows only in the wettest of winters. I have photographed this tree in all four seasons, spring is the most spectacular !Time
This was early spring at sundownLighting
I was shooting to capture the silhouettes of the trees in the back ground while keeping the dramatic clouds from being over exposed. Along with slowing the the shutter speed just enough to make the smoke water affect.Equipment
Canon 50d, 10 /22 mm Canon lens, polarize filter, Brogan 3030 tripod. No flash, single image, no layers.Inspiration
As I mentioned I've been to this location many, and different times of the year. It was after a very heavy spring rain, I just knew that this creek would be flowing. Living only 20 minutes from this location, with tripod in hand I headed back with this exact location in mind. Must have shot off a 100 or more frames that day.Editing
The only post - processing I do is simple color adjustments, sharping, burning and dodging all done in Light room.In my camera bag
My only camera is the Canon 50d. I have three lens, all by Canon. my favored is the 10/22 mm then the 28/135mm with a 75/300mm. I have various filters for each lens, extra batteries and chargers.Feedback
Shoot, shoot and keep shooting, trial and error along with good notes will help improve oneself.
