Beautiful waterfall shot...Where is this fall?
See all

Behind The Lens

Location

Dunnellon, Florida at Rainbow Springs Falls

Time

After finding this place, doing some research in headed out and got there early in the morning and was able to use the low light conditions to take this shot.

Lighting

I wanted to make this shot as long as possible, so I had to wait for the lighting to be just right to get that long exposure.

Equipment

Shot this on a Canon Rebel T3, was my first camera and the stock lens.

Inspiration

Just the overall beauty of the location. Also wanted to try my hand at a long exposure shot and to show people that there are waterfalls even in Florida, lol.

Editing

There was little post possessing needed on this shot, but I took this into photoshop to touch it up just a little.

In my camera bag

I try to carry what I feel I may need for my outing as I tend to do some exploring and you never know what you will need. But I usually have my Canon 70D with a good tripod, my 10-24mm wide angle, 50mm prime abs the stock lens.

Feedback

Get out and explore! You never know what you will find going down that dirt road or two track. Some of my favorite shots came from getting "lost" and discovering some hidden gem of a location.
