Location
I took this photo on a beautiful beach called Bahia de Cata located in Aragua Venezuela. The beaches of the Caribbean are a beauty.Time
It was a little bit more than 5:00 am, as soon as the sun was setting and the couple (newlyweds) had a while up getting ready for the session.Lighting
I had just seen a tutorial that my friend Lee Morris gave me (founder of Fstoppers) and I could not get out of my mind the idea of using a great octagon box with a good flash in my subjects just at a time when the ambient light began or ended of being. This was a great octagon box, with a 300 power flash.Equipment
I remember using the camera I had at that time: Sony a65, with a Sony 16-50mm 2.4f lensInspiration
Venezuela is a tropical country, and it is very normal to have weddings on the beach. I grew up on this beach, I even surfed on it. When this couple told me they wanted some photos after their wedding, on a beach, and they still did not know which beach to look for ... it was the first thing I thought: Bahia de Cata. Then I tried to remember which location was better, and I remembered those times when I was surfing and with my friends, we were going to enjoy the waves very early, the colors that were incredible. So for me, it was sharing a memory, with something that was going to be an important memory in their lives.Editing
Yes, I always do post-processing in my photos. I use Lightroom and Photoshop. In Lightroom, I did an exposure and color treatment, while in photoshop, I digitally erased some footprint in the sand, and fixed the levels a bit.In my camera bag
My bag usually changes according to the type of photograph I'm going to make. Lately, I have two camera bodies: Sony 7r and Sony a65. I usually carry an 85mm 1.4f lens next to my favorite lens, 16-50mm 2.4f. Some filters for the lenses, a flashlight, a Speedlite flash, a remote trigger and a tripod or monopod.Feedback
Play with light. In photography, everything is about light, and I have learned to fall in love playing with a natural light next to an artificial light. There is a lot of talent out there, and the tools are within reach, you just have to explore, experiment with light, and make your photos mean something to you.
