Behind The Lens
Location
My home studio.Time
Afternoon, but inside the building with no other lighting influences other than my own.Lighting
I used 1 softbox which was set on the model's left side just behind her and was angled upward, and 1 40w mono light set on the ground facing up.Equipment
This picture was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera. The lens that was on the camera was a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Is II Zoom Lens. I handheld the camera and did not use a tripod. I relied solely on the lighting from the softbox and mono light, and turned off the flash.Inspiration
The model is my daughter. It was a weekend day that she had been laying out in the sun in the backyard. She came into the house and I asked her if she would assist me while I was adjusting the lighting. She was acting silly, and this is one of the photos that was taken.Editing
I removed her acne inside PhotoShop. In my camera bag
I take 2-3 cameras: Canon's T3, T3i, and Mark III D. I also take many different lenses and filters. I'm always traveling and going places, so I like to make sure I have everything with me just in case I'll need it.Feedback
Use contrasting colors, play with the lighting until you get the look you want, use an f-stop around 5.6 while standing approximately 4'-5' from your subject. Have fun.
