I took this photo a few years ago when walking my dogs in a nearby forest where I live in Fleet Hampshire UK- I just think Highland cattle are utterly gorgeous altho have had a nasty scrape on my arm from one of their horns. They are here in the forest overseen by Hampshire wild life.Different volunteers have to count them so many times week and look for any injuries.I did this myself for a while in another area near the forest but to be honest they were different cattle and a bit scary where as these Highlanders are pretty quiet as long as they dont get annoyed by barking dogs.Luckily my Pointer seems to think they are a bigger version of himTime
it was mid morning when I took this picture.I am no expert but I always have a little camera handy to seize the moment!Lighting
I was a window dresser/designer back in the day and have an art background-I think I have good eye for balance and to be honest as I said earlier-I seize the moment and the lighting is incidental in most cases-I am by no means an expert in photography in anywayEquipment
my camera was bought in Dubai 20 years ago as a gift-It automatically turn the flash on when needed-I did tell ya'all I am no expert =just have good eye!Inspiration
I walk alot in the countryside-I have a very good imagination-I look at tree trunks and see faces and figures.I love the shapes of deadwood that lie on the ground and make up pictures or imagine I am doing a fashion shoot and see great back ground scenes made of fallen trees .sometimes in the dark marshy areas of twisted trees I see a green mossy far away land illuminated with shafts of light.that would make setting for a magical film .when I took this picture I was imagining what my dog thought of this huge creature and what the Highlander thought of my dog bathing in his stream.looking at the picture years later its almost as tho they are having a conversation.imagination is a powerful toolEditing

oh I am not a person to give advice over technical or any photographic issues.I am just very aware of unexpected little scenes that pop up in day today life- my brain is always on the lookout for something that happens without planning or staging. My dad who was a Artist used to say-balance of any painting is important and for that one must have a 'good eye'.Thats why I got into window design and it has helped me a great deal in taking pictures and capturing 'the moment'
